Dear Friends and Faithful,
You will see that, after Pascha, the Church has us read the Acts of the Apostles daily.
This is just a note to explain why.
Our Lord Jesus stayed with His disciples 40 days after His resurrection, instructing them, encouraging them, and forming them into the leaders who would be ready to receive the Holy Spirit on the Feast of Pentecost.
This time of preparation produces the spiritual fruit of the Book of Acts.
Every time someone says, “I wish we knew what Jesus was teaching during these 40 days after His resurrection,” remind them that we DO know. We see the results of the Lord’s teaching in the lives of His Apostles and the other saints filled with the Spirit at Pentecost.
AND, we are invited by the faithful witness of the Apostles to actively participate in the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us at our chrismation. Yes, that same Holy Spirit that came on Pentecost is given to all the Faithful Orthodox.
You have the power to love as a faithful follower of Christ!
So, join us in this adventure through the Book of Acts each weekday here at Faith Encouraged!
Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, for the Lord by His Might, has created a Dominion. He has conquered death by death, and become the first-born of the dead. He has delivered us from the depths of Hades, and has granted the world great mercy.
