Meister Eckhart said, “What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action.”

It’s a false dichotomy to say that contemplation and action are separate. They aren’t. The best actions, choices, and decisions flow from the profound attentiveness that comes from taking the time to consider your choices.

Living on “automatic pilot” and making thoughtless choices usually cause us the most trouble. That’s why I so treasure these times in the book of Proverbs. Feast your heart and mind on today’s wisdom!
